CCC Shop Your Closet

Hey Everyone!!!

I hope all is well with everyone who is reading today. I wanted to show the looks I've had since I started my Shop Your Closet challenge. I will say its been fun to know that I do not have to spend money to look good when I can make what I have in my closet make me look GREAT! I will admit however, I had some weak moments and saw some items online that I wanted. However, I thought about you, YES, that's right my challenge participants and said if I want this challenge to be successful I have to be strong. This is what I want to show to whomever will listen and learn that our wardrobe is a part of us. We make our clothes work for us. I mean we did work hard toward the clothes we have in our closet right? Even if its vintage/thrifted pieces its ours. Make it work for you. Another lesson that you can learn out of this challenge is that there may be more pieces that you may have to include to complete your closet. Pieces such as, an all white button-up shirt, basic black skirt, gray/brown/black dress pants etc. Keep up the good work to you ladies and even gentlemen who maybe using this challenge to help save money also. Also I had the pleasure to work with a good friend of mine who needed an outfit from her closet. When I went through her HUGE closet I finally saw the outfit that she even mentioned she would not have thought of that outfit. There is even a YouTube video for the look that will be added on my page. ClassyConfidentCurves is my name on YoutTube.
Here is the week's outfit and my friend Stacy who I styled from her closet.

Hope you have enjoyed and continue to Shop Your Closet!!! xoxo

Classy Confident Curves Shop Your Closet Challenge

Hi everyone!!!

Hope all is well with each and everyone of you. I wanted to take a moment to discuss the challenge that I decided to start for the month of February. Before I gave the green light on this challenge which is nothing new I researched the words shop your closet on Instagram and saw that a lot of women were giving their closets some much needed attention. I know as women we spend a lot of money on clothes, shoes, and accessories to look great. However, have you noticed by looking in your closet that there is still clothing that still have the price tags on them? This is when you know you either have a loss of memory lol or you are buying unnecessary clothing. I believe buying on impulse is the worse thing a person can do. That shirt or pair of pants was so cute in the store but did you think about what you would wear it with? Anytime I visit the mall in particularly I would also go in with a mindset of why I am there. This would help me limit by impulse buying. We know that does not work all the time so we still have that 100th black top that we thought was so different with that price tag still on it just sitting pretty in our closet. So this #CCCShopYourCloset Challenge will put our wallets away and bring out our creativity to start making better use of our clothing. This will also give you a moment of clarity about your spending habits and maybe set aside clothes that could be given away. Because maybe you'd lost weight and when you were about to take the price tag off that skirt you realized someone else could use this instead of you. I try to show an outfit everyday of the week at the same time show the interchangeable ideas you have with your clothing. Remixing also shows how your clothes can work for you and you getting your money's worth. So I hope you ladies and gentleman enjoy the challenge. I will add my outfits through the week just to show you I am keeping up with the challenge also.

Have fun and Happy shopping!!! xoxo

Just Another Day (Shop Your Closet)

Hello Everyone!

I hope all is well with everyone that is reading. Today, has been such a beautiful day thus far. I went out to complete a second day of blogging. When I opened the door it was like Beauty hit me right in the face and I loved it. Can I tell you how good it feels to wake up with no anger of what the day would bring. Meaning, you know what kind of day your were going to have before you woke up. I understand we make the best of our days. We say what kind of day we plan on having. However, its different when you are not happy with what you currently are faced with such as your job. Yes, it pays the bills but, is that we have to look forward in life. I am here to tell you HELL NO! You are not happy with the way your life is going and you have prayed and prayed that God get you out of a situation. Well I believe and agree with what Oprah Winfrey stated and I am paraphrasing here. That when we have prayed about a situation and we are waiting on God to make it happen, God is actually waiting on us to make the next move. Whatever you may go through just know there is always a way out. Remember our calculations are not God's calculation. What we see with the naked eye is not how God sees it. Be smart and designed a life that you will wake up to love everyday. Now on to fashion. I stated that I was going to start a challenge in the month of February to challenge women to shop their own closet. Keep your money in your purse and shop your own closet. I am pretty sure there are clothes in your closet right now that still have the price tag on it. I am going to challenge you ladies to get creative and rock your clothes like you just bought it from the mall that day. I think I have jump started this challenge with today's outfit. Everything I had on has been in my closet at least six months. I love buying statement pieces that can be worn with a lot and remixed in different ways. Starting Feb. 1 which is also Super Bowl Sunday we will start our challenge and see just how many outfits we have in our closet.Since there are already several women doing this same challenge. The hashtag is going to be distinctive to Classy Confident Curves. So it will be #CCCShopYourCloset. Every look using only the clothes in your closet you will use the hashtag #CCCShopYourCloset.

Wild Wild West

Hello Ladies and Gents who may also be reading!

I hope everyone is doing well today! I wanted to bring yet another blog featuring this Boo Hoo Duster Coat. This trend is so chic and classy and I just had to purchase my own. This coat can be worn in many different ways. I decided to pair it with jeans and a simple white top. Of course I had to throw in some color with my leopard print scarf, belt, and mustard yellow pumps from Lola Shoetique. I feel like Kool Moe Dee in that song The Wild Wild West. I remember my mother had this caramel brown duster she used to rock and she was baddddddddd. This look reminds me of the song. LOL!  Recently, I resigned from my job and decided to fully jump into starting my own image consulting/personal styling business. Since, I have so much more time to do what I love I will be blogging a lot more. I even came up with the idea to do a Shop Your Closet Challenge for the month of February. As much as I love to shop I also love to keep my money in my pocket. This challenge gives you the chance to know what is in your closet and also pushes out your own creativity. More details will be given as we get closer to February. Until then lets see the featured look. I am getting used to a new area and let me just say the onlookers are so confused as to what I was doing. It was so funny seeing people in the neighborhood almost stop and stare to see what I had going on. This is a great look for a lot of occasions.

Don't forget more details on the Shop Your Closet Challenge in February will be on the next blog and also on Instagram. Until next time ladies and gentleman XOXO

Closing Doors to Open New Ones

Hello EVERYBODY!!!!!!

As Rick Flair would say WHOOOOAAAAAA! Yes, I watched wrestling as well. Ladies and gentleman do I have have some news for you. So, as you know I love fashion so much to the point I have begun the urge to want to start my own personal styling business. Classy Confident Curves was to cover my plus size women and cover the blog. Now after thinking a lot about my life and what I really wanted to accomplish I started thinking about my major loves. I have a major love for not only FASHION but also MEN, and FOOTBALL. I had a little compelling insight on what rookie football players go through from the decision to leave college and enter into the league from the combine to the draft. Something I noticed was that there are a lot of cameras for television appearances. This appearances show an image of a man that is about to take the field for his rookie debut. These appearances show how well they answers questions, how they pronounce certain words, and how well they are dressed. Some of these men need guidance before getting in front of the camera. Some need proper etiquette and grooming before they even play their first game. That is where I come in. Introducing Notorious Fashion unLeashed. GET IT!!! NFL. This business is welcome to all who need or want to brand their image. I believe this movement can be beneficial to those up and coming football players to help begin building their name and giving people something to talk about on and off the field. Anything doing with their appearance I am ready for. There are some potential prospects entering the league who need some guidance in how to conduct themselves in public because that camera is always ready even when they are not.

You may ask how will you have time to pursue this business Stacei?  Well for starters today January 9, 2015 I resigned from my corporate position to work around the clock to make this happen. That was my other big news. Yes, God has called me out for working for others to help earn more money and called me into making my own money. I have worked in customer service since I was 15 years old and always worked for someone else. Never had the idea on owning my own business until this year. Can you say FAITH ON FLEEK right now I have neverrrrrrrrrrrrrr in a million years thought I would be that person that would quit a job to pursue anything where I didn't have something to fall back on. I did it! I am doing it and this will be done! Notorious Fashion unLeashed will be successful. I know this is going to be rough journey but I believe that God will be with me every step. So, today I wanted to show what an unemployed turn self employed woman looks like. Lol! This is not a downfall but a step up!

I'm a Blogger Too!

                                                        Heyyyyyyyyyyyy Ladies!!!

I hope all is well with everyone very quickly I wanted to come by and show off a new look and to talk about my hobby as a blogger. I love blogging because it gives me an opportunity to vent through my words and my style of wear. I do a lot of shopping and love seeing what the latest trendsetter that's out. Fashion is my outlet and Blogging gives me the chance to shout it to the rough top about what I think, feel, and believe in. Most importantly, no one can tell me I am wrong or critique what I write because it all my own thoughts. Today, I was able to broadcast my craft and wear a very bold and bright shirt that explains how I feel about being a blogger in two forms; shirt and earrings!

A New Year and A New Vision

Hello Ladies and possible Gents!
Yes, I titled this blog with one of the most cliche phrases ever used around this time of the year. However, for me its true because of the goodness of the Lord. He has brought me a mighty lonnnnngggggg way....HA! I never thought in a million years that I would focus so much on fashion and an actual career in it this past year. For those who are not aware I attended college and received a BS in Criminal Justice with the hopes of working with the local police department. Even completed an internship with the police department. I have seen some crazy things doing police ride-a-longs. I just knew this was what I wanted for my life. Even decided to go back to school to earn my masters in Administration of Justice and Security. Right after I received my masters I started applying for careers in Criminal Justice. Can you believe I came close and failed the test. I felt then I was a loser and I started doubting myself. I mean every single position I applied for in Criminal Justice failed. FAILED!!!!!! I could not get in anywhere even with using family members who are currently and even retired in the same field as references; still did not help. I did not give up that easily; I accepted a job to get back on my feet working in a phone center. Yeah I know!!! It is pretty good money. I said I would work this until the position came through for me in the career path I just knew was mine to have. NOPE!!! Still no change. I have gotten so many rejections this year with trying to get in this field. This is when I realized me typing this blog every so often showing off my own looks was where I needed to focus on more. I am currently researching schools to gain certification in image consultantig and to gain more experience in the fashion industry with women and men. My dream is to become a wardrobe stylist/image consultant with most of my clientele being professional football players. I think that the young men who come into the league as rookies need assistance in branding their image starting with their first appearance on television and not when they are wearing their football uniform. There is already so much high expectations on these men to do well so why not ease the frustration by assisting them with their image. To God be the Glory this will happen! Enough of that lets talk about these NYE outfit. New Year is definitely a time to see glitz, glam, and glitter! I am here for all of it. I just added some velvet and fur to the mix. Whether you celebrate at church or in the club here are some ideas for you! Enjoy!

I look forward to this new year I am utterly excited about making a great move into Fashion/Image Consulting for the NFL. Remember that true promotion comes from the Lord. We make our own career position. I think I was playing it safe when God is telling me we are going to take you further! Watch Him Work! To God be the Glory! xoxo

Hey Ladies!!!

Yes, it has been a minute since I have blogged a look for Classy Confident Curves. You guys know where to find me but I would like to attach a few looks and I usually will leave details on the each feature looked. Enjoy! I will be back weekly soon. XOXO

Abstract Patterns & Plaid and Boots: Classy Confident Curves Feature of the Day

Hey Ladies!!!

Hope all is well with you all! I wanted to stop by again this week to bring another feature. Very seldom am I able to do a double feature in a week. So I was happy to have another day to bring to you my version of plus size fashion. Today was all about abstract patterns. Abstract patterns are known not to depict a person, place, or thing. It is a composition of all types of colors and shapes that come together to make an amazing piece of clothing or art however you look at it. I use to see it just in the art form hanging on walls but, I am seeing it in my clothing and I am deeply in love with it. Just because its Fall doesn't mean I can't keep it bright. Details are below. Also this is a triple feature of another look introducing Plaid and Combat boots. Look below for details.
Top: Forever 21, Skirt (Similar) Forever 21, Shoes: GoJane, Necklace: Forever 21/Versona Accessories, Coat: Old Navy, Pants: Ross
The second feature introduces plaid paired with combat boots. Plaid has become a strong go to piece in fashion. Plaid can just about go with anything. I usually will pair mine with another print. Of course the combat boots just bring out the plaid even more in my opinion. I advised someone who was purchasing the plaid skirt to pair with a polka dotted or leopard print top!!! Yes ma'am you would be surprised how good mixed prints would look incorporating plaid or Tartan. Its whatever you want to call it. Lol! Hope enjoy the features Ladies!

UN-Bothered

Hey Ladies!!!

I hope everyone is doing well. Today's blog is featuring two pieces that I have become in love with. When I purchased these items I had no thought to wear them together. However, it turned out to be an awesome look might I add. Being the size I am and doing this blog thing along with the people I have met over social media I become UN-BOTHERED! Best believe its in a great way. I am UN-bothered by caring what anyone has to say about pretty much anything at this point. We all know people have an opinion about EVERYTHING. If they won't hold their tongue then why should I care if anyone likes me for me and how I roll. I'm just UN-bothered! I wear shiny clothing, crop tops, and body suits (which brings attention)...I'm UN-bothered! I wear 2 piece swimwear during the Summer...I'm UN-bothered! I show belly...I'm UN-bothered! I wear bight colors because I'm UN-bothered! I will wear bold prints why? I'm UN-bothered. Anything they say a plus size woman should not wear I will make sure its done...I stay UN-bothered! I will remain UN-bothered! Its a good feeling because you are not living up to anyone standard but your own. I hope those women who are still in their shells to come on out and just be UN-bothered because you can be careful all your life and still be talked about and pointed at! You know my motto! Flaunt your feathers honey! This is what Classy Confident Curves is all about! Now on to the feature.
