Parental Advisory: Adult Content (Confidence on Overload)

A plus size or curvy woman who walks with a stride of self CONFIDENCE is not for everyone to understand or accept. Others will always questioned your confidence and try to figure out how or why you walk with this level of self love. Its a part of knowing yourself and accepting who you are along with all your flaws. The saying goes, "No one can love you if you don't love yourself first". So be advised if you can't handle being plus size and lack the confidence and self love of your own body it is time to make a change because YOU want that change. Just don't forget you loving yourself is the ultimate goal. Ladies must learn to love themselves as they are now before they are so quick to change the way they look. You would be surprised how many women who are a size 8 who still do not love themselves. I believe my confidence should not offend you. I want others to know its okay to show off your curves; don't hide them. Flaunt what God gave you! Be you, Love you, and Cherish you! My outfit of the day pretty much portrays my personality. I am a walking warning sign! Let it be known I am not conceited but I know my worth! The graphic tee worn says to others be warn that I have curves for days but I am not afraid to show them off. For those who judge plus size women and say that we should lose weight need to be advised that CONFIDENCE and SELF-LOVE comes first. Where does your confidence come from? Accepting what is is in front of the mirror. Loving every curve on your body. Telling yourself that you are beautiful and no one can take that away from you. Also remember not everyone will love or even like you, but that doesn't matter. What matters is when you look in the mirror you smile, pose, and give yourself a kiss! Even a million men can tell you, you are beautiful but it would not mount to a hill of beans if you don't believe in you first. Yes, I am country girl lol! So ladies I say to you, your curves are only for the mature ones that can handle and not feel offended. For those who have a problem well they have been ADVISED and you pretty much don't give a damn what they think! Love ya! Outfit details are below!

Fall in the Bull City

Home of the Durham Bulls Baseball team and known as the City of Medicine. Durham, NC has become my first home. Not only because I graduated from North Carolina Central University but Durham gives an ole country girl enough city and country all in one. After my last blog my biggest fan gave me some constructive criticism. This person told me its time to move away from the steps near my apartment. I feel comfortable there. The thing is if I want to become a well-known plus size fashion blogger I have to step away from my comfort zone. Well I did that today. I took a trip out to the downtown area of Durham and I actually enjoyed myself! Even with so many people walking by I felt comfortable and did not mind being watched. This was not just to show off my outfit of the day but this also taught me something. Its okay to be seen and looked at. What is the point of dressing and taking pictures if I do not want anyone looking at me. I have always been the quiet one. The one that makes no fuss. This journey is for me to continue to step outside the box not only in what I wear but also my personality. I can appreciate someone who can genuinely tell me what I need to work on because they see more potential in me. I love people who can uplift and motivate others. I do it all the time for others so it feels great when I can get the same in return. Because of that person I went out and tried something different and really enjoyed myself.

Skating On Cloud Nine (Fall Look Part 2)

I chose this title to this post because as a plus size woman we sometimes have to consider that everything that is made in our size is not exactly a great idea to wear. The latest trend this year is the faux leather skater skirts. I have seen many women wear this particular style of skirt and pull it off very well. Now! Let me just say that my body type is although proportional from top to middle to bottom I was afraid that I could not wear this skirt. Reason being I have a high big butt. This is what I like to call the Big Booty Blues. When it comes to wearing certain skirts I have to be mindful I cannot show all my goodies to the rest of the world. Remembering I strive to maintain a classy look. So, I sat on the idea of purchasing this skirt for the entire summer. I finally gave in and said what the hell lets see how good or bad this could be. When I received the skirt I rushed to try it on and low and behold I was right. It was too high in the back. Yes, I was disappointed and ready to give it away and go back to the drawing board. One night I was playing dress up, in which I had my extra protection on (shapewear). I tried on the skirt again and I liked the way it fit me this time. It was pretty much even around the circumference of my lower body. So I added a top and fishnet stockings and I smiled with relief and was I overjoyed. Hence, the skating on CLOUD NINE. Its two lessons into one. As I mentioned before sometimes as plus size women we have to be cautious of the etiquette with certain clothing at the same time do not give up on yourself when there is a certain look you want. It doesn't hurt to wear shapewear to smooth out some parts of your body to get a certain look you want. I enjoyed wearing my skirt and did not feel self-conscious that I maybe mooning the whole world. Thanks for reading! Outfit details are below.

Clothes That Hold Sentimental Value

Good beautiful day to everyone reading!! I wanted to dedicate this particular post to my wonderful Grandmother Rosa Mae Vick who is no longer with us on Earth but in spirit. I remember my grandmother being a stylish diva of her time. She showed us how fashion was suppose to be flaunted. She even made some of her own clothing. She was also a plus size woman so, if there was something she could not find in stores best believe it would be made to her liking. She also shopped a lot; which back then it was through a Sears catalog...lol! Since her time a few things have changed but never the love I have for her. She was a woman of few words at times. She rather show you than tell you. She showed me even then that you wear what you want when you want to wear it. Therefore, the rule of wearing white after Labor Day is out the window. The white blazer featured in today's post was part of a suit I wore the day my grandmother was laid to rest. All of her children and grandchildren wore white to respect that fact that we were not mourning the lost of my beloved grandmother. We were in fact celebrating her life with class. I remember the white dress she wore on that day. She was also a natural sister; a salt-n-pepper close cut afro. I wanted to jazz up this white blazer wearing a mustard yellow top and graphic jeans. Along with this outfit I am also featuring my Divaliciouslyhott ear candy. This white blazer has sentimental value to me because it was the last thing I wore to celebrate a wonderful woman. Cleaning out my closet I always come to this suit but could never give it away. It reminds me of her; it will never leave my sight. It will forever stay with me. Even the graphic jeans somehow I could not part ways with them. I love anything graphic; jeans, t-shirt, jackets, etc. Do you have clothes that hold sentimental value to you? From reading other articles this is not too far fetched. There are plenty of people who have clothing that reminds them of others gone but never forgotten loved ones. Hope you enjoy!! Thanks as always. Details of outfit below the last picture.
